Hi Everyone!
Gavin had a very busy weekend...he celebrated his very first Halloween, had a photographer take professional pictures of him for more than 4 hours, and he was also baptized on Sunday. On Friday, Gavin celebrated his first Halloween by dressing up like a baby skunk. He was absolutely adorable! Gavin was also invited to his very first party which also happened to be a Halloween party. We took our little guy out for trick or treating and he really enjoyed seeing all of the decorations and costumes. As you can see from the picture on our blog, he ended up passing out from all of the festivities. Everyone ended up having a great time!
On Saturday, we hired a professional photographer to take pictures of Gavin. We are looking forward to the pictures being posted to the photographer's website. As soon as they are available, we will post the link so everyone can see his pictures. Gavin was such a good sport during the photo session...no matter what the photographer suggested, Gavin seemed to be up for it. After all of the wardrobe changes and poses, we were able to catch some great shots of him. At the end of the session, he was so exhausted he passed out. It's not easy being so cute. :o)
To cap off the weekend, Gavin was baptized on Sunday. Gavin wore a beautiful christening outfit his Nana bought for him. At his service, Tim, myself, Nana, Grampie, and our friend Jen were there for the baptism. Gavin ended up stealing the show when Sue anointed him...when she made the cross on his forward, Gavin looked up at her and gave her a big smile. It was a beautiful service. Gavin now has two very specials sets of God Parents...Robert and Helen Mason and Robbi & Andy Makely. A big thank you goes out to my mom and dad for having us over for dinner and the beautiful silver rattle and cup to commemorate the day.
Well, that's all for now...only 2 weeks to Thanksgiving...so, we will have more to share after the holiday... :o)
Love,

Getting Into the Swing of Things...
Hi Everyone,
It's been awhile since I have updated our blog and a lot has happened since my last entry. We are all doing very well and I have finally returned back to work. Gavin is doing very well, he is enjoying his special one on one time with Nana and his Nanny, Rene. Gavin is growing like a weed and he wakes up everyone morning with a great, big smile on his face. He is cooing and laughing most of the day (except for when he is really hungry and waiting to eat). :o)
Today we took Gavin to Maymont park to see the two black bears and all of the wildlife at the park. He seemed to enjoy most of it...however, he spent most of the time asleep and simply enjoying being outdoors. We have also figured out that he now has a favorite book for bedtime which is Pajama Time...he really lights up when we read the book to him. It's probably because I end up singing the book to him which makes him laugh; probably because there is absolutely no danger of me winning American Idol anytime soon with my singing skills. And, Tim is the ultimate burper (I mean when it comes to burping Gavin) he is so proud of his skills. Gavin definitely loves his Daddy and when he looks up at Tim, he has a huge smile on his face and loves to coo.
Tomorrow Gavin will be 3 months old exactly and time definitely flies by. It seems like just yesterday we will bringing our little guy home from the hospital. He is now about 13 pounds and getting longer every day it seems! He is an amazing little boy! In the next couple of weeks we are going to take Gavin to a couple of Halloween celebrations and he will be able to participate too...he has his own costume which we can't wait to put on him. (o.k...I am probably the only one who cannot wait to put the costume on him) Gavin is going to be the "Little Stinker" a.k.a. a baby skunk. Stay tuned for those pictures...they will definitely be a hoot!
Love,

THE MAKELY FAMILY
Hi Everyone,
Welcome to the Makely Family's blog! With the birth of our son Gavin on July 7th, 2008, we were so excited about his arrival we sent out tons of pictures to our family and friends. However, in the process, we were crashing our friends and family's email accounts with the large photos and videos. My sister-in-law Helen (an avid blogger herself) suggested that we create our own blog so that everyone can keep up with the shenanigans of our family without us crashing everyone's email accounts. So, now everyone can see what we are up to as a family without us crashing your email account. (And yes, you were right Helen, the site is idiot proof).
Anyway, as I said before, we created this site after the birth of our first son, Gavin. Gavin was born on July 7th, 2008 and weighed in at 7 pounds 11 ounces and was 20 1/4 inches long. He is now almost 7 weeks old and weighs more than 11 pounds and is 21 1/2 inches long. We are so overjoyed with the birth of our son and he has been a beautiful addition to our family. We couldn't be happier. So, stay tuned... we will be adding pictures and videos of our family's tomfoolery soon!
